The Southfield Freeway and its service drives will close this weekend in Detroit from I-96 to Eight Mile Road for pedestrian bridge demolitions — one of three construction projects scheduled in the area this weekend.
The M-39 freeway will be closed 9 p.m. Friday and reopen 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Other projects:
- The Southfield Freeway’s northbound service drive from Village Road to U.S. 12 in Dearborn will be closed for two weeks starting 9 a.m. Friday for emergency bridge repair over the Rouge River. The Michigan Avenue exit will be closed, as well as the northbound M-39 ramps to eastbound and westbound U.S. 12.
- The southbound Lodge Freeway (M-10) will be down to one lane 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday and the ramp from eastbound I-94 to southbound Lodge will be closed as crews install overhead signs at the Warren Avenue bridge.
