MI Clean Water Initiative Statement
LANSING. Mich. – The following statement can be attributed to Mike Nystrom, Executive Vice President, Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association: “We applaud Governor Whitmer, the bipartisan group of state legislators who are part of this, and our federal partners for this historic clean-water investment. It is a significantly positive next step toward solving the decades-old problem of woefully under-funded infrastructure in Michigan, and it will help to improve and protect the state’s public health too. We continue to call on Michigan voters to elect state legislators on Nov. 3 who will commit to passing a comprehensive long-term plan to fix our state’s massive unmet infrastructure needs, including our crumbling roads and bridges, our aging dams, water infrastructure, and our wastewater and stormwater systems.”
