HOUGHTON, MI —   Nine communities around Michigan—including one in the Upper Peninsula—have been awarded nearly $7 million in grants to upgrade water and sewer systems.

The money comes through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Infrastructure Capacity Enhancement program.  It’s designed to assist low- and moderate-income communities in improving existing infrastructure.
