Drivers should expect to be slowed down on two state roads that the Michigan Department of Transportation plans to resurface starting next week.
MDOT said in a news release that it expects construction to start Monday, Aug. 14, on M-15 from south of Lapeer Road to south of the eastbound I-69 entrance ramp, and on M-53 from north of Imlay City Road to Bowers Road in Genesee and Lapeer counties.
The $720,000 project includes joint repairs, milling and resurfacing of the roads.
MDOT’s announcement of the work says M-15 traffic will be maintained with single-lane closures and occasional overnight closures of the ramps at M-15 and I-69. M-53 traffic will be maintained with flag control, and all work is expected to be completed during overnight hours, the agency’s news release says.
