The recent weather has taken a toll on Michigan roads.
According to the Michigan Department of Transportation the recent fluctuation in temperature is the cause of a lot of the damage to the roads.
“Every local knows there are potholes they need to dodge daily,” Benton Harbor resident and business owner Jaffe Bartlett said.
MDOT says the recent uptick in potholes has affected their budget.
“Well it’s going into the budget but we do plan for winters and if it happens to go over we can make adjustments where necessary and you know kind of tightening,” MDOT Communications Aaron Jenkins said.
MDOT says although there will be increased costs the recent events won’t completely bust the budget which could lead to ending Summer program
