Repairs will soon get underway along one of the most pothole-prone roads in the area: Mound Road in Macomb County.
Barrels and signs are already out, warning drivers of the upcoming construction.
The area they will concentrate on is the four mile stretch from 14 Mile to 18 Mile. It’s going to be an $8.8 million project that will repair both the north and southbound lanes.
Officials say the plan will take place in phases, so the road will not ever be completely closed, but motorists can expect some delays with two to three lanes closed at a time. Drivers are encouraged to take an alternate route, like Van Dyke, to avoid construction.
The project is set to be completed by early November.
