KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The Road Commission of Kalamazoo County has issued a warning to drivers that we are just about to enter the pothole season, and other road agencies say that travel may become “increasingly difficult” particularly on gravel roads.
Temperature fluctuations, rain and snow melt and the heaving and shifting of the ground is about to do a number on area roadways.
Road Commission Director Joanna Johnson says there isn’t much they can do about gravel roads until the weather warms up and they can be graded.
Patching operations have been launched in between snow plowing.
Weight limits and road restrictions will be placed on trucks, and it’s up to the rest of us to slow down and dodge the big ones if we can.
