HILLSDALE — Infrastructure repairs to four city side streets are scheduled to take place this year.
During the regular business meeting of the Hillsdale City Council, Jake Hammel, the director of the Department of Public Services, announced that a request for bids went out to contractors on Jan. 12 to mill and resurface Garden, Vine, Mead and Rippon Streets.
The project — made possible by a $1.8 million Infrastructure Capacity Enhancement grant from the state of Michigan — will have a “wide construction window” spanning from this spring to later this fall.
“We’re giving them a large construction window to keep the costs down,” Hammel said.
Hammel anticipates that he will receive bids back for the work projects by Feb. 12 and have a recommendation to city council by Feb. 19.
