DETROIT (WXYZ) – Southbound I-75 is closed at Clark St. in southwest Detroit to demolish a dangerous bridge.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Junction St. bridge is dangerous and they will eventually tear down the bridge. It was determined to be dangerous after a crash on Tuesday.

The bridge will close Wednesday afternoon ahead of rush hour and won’t open until Friday.

Right now, the highway will have to close as they bring in crews to perform safety checks before they actually tear it down.

Northbound I-75 will close at Livernois Ave. but that closure will take more time to set up because there are three lanes of traffic. Motorists can use east Fort St. to continue north.
