ANN ARBOR, MI – Construction on U.S. 23 north of Ann Arbor will halt for Labor Day weekend, but ramp closures and a traffic shift will remain in place.

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced it’s suspending work on 77 of its 110 projects statewide.

Crews will stop working at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, and start again at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.

On U.S. 23, all four lanes of traffic from just north of Eight Mile Road to just south of Barker Road in Northfield Township are on the southbound lanes.

There are two lanes of traffic open in each direction.

The on ramps at M-36 or Nine Mile Road in Livingston County will remain closed through Sept. 15 for reconstruction.
