JACKSON, MI — The intersection of M-50 and South Street is closed for two weeks as the Michigan Department of Transportation works to realign it.
Before construction, the intersection came in at an angle to M-50, which is not safe and makes it hard to see on-coming traffic, Samuel Sorensen, MDOT construction engineer, said.
The realignment will create a 90-degree intersection with a right turn lane that will make it safer for drivers, he said.
A detour is posted. Drivers coming from US-127 and taking the South Street exit cannot go eastbound on M-50 during the construction.
