If Brighton voters approve a 4.3 mill tax increase for road improvements in August, it will be for a decade, not forever.

The Brighton City Council voted to cap the millage at 10 years Thursday.

Previously-approved ballot language had no end date for the millage. Prior to the council’s discussion about adding a “sunset” provision, some residents at the meeting voiced concerns about the proposal.
