FRASER, Mich. (WXYZ) – Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller said there is the possibility that another sinkhole could happen in Macomb County if a damaged pipe is not taken care of.
Miller and Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel spoke to reporters at the site of the Fraser sinkhole on Thursday afternoon.
According to Miller, the bypass built for the first collapse gave them the ability to go in and inspect the sewer interceptor and another adjacent interceptor. The adjacent interceptor is in bad condition with leaks and gushes.
The fix, Miller said, is much easier than fixing the original collapse that happened on 15 Mile in Fraser on Christmas Eve.
