MARSHALL, MI — A main road through downtown Marshall, and ramps at a nearby I-69/I-94 interchange will undergo construction starting Monday.
The Michigan Department of Transportation announced lane closures and a traffic shift for water main repairs on I-94 Business Loop (Michigan Avenue) between Sycamore Street and Marshall Avenue in Marshall. The construction is scheduled to impact traffic from Monday through Sept. 18.
MDOT will also be repaving ramps and sealing joints at the I-69/I-94 interchange, just a few miles to the northeast. Ramps will be narrowed during daytime construction, and traffic will be detoured to the nearest interchange during nighttime construction through Oct. 27.
The new pavement will increase surface friction and make a smoother ride, improving safety, according to an MDOT release.
