ANN ARBOR, MI – A partially collapsed sewer pipe on a University of Michigan residential property led to a leak of sewage that percolated up around a parking lot on Glen Court on Friday, May 12.

The property was located just off of Glen Court on Cornwell Place, where the collapsed pipe allowed small amounts of sewage to percolate slowly up through a UM parking lot on Glen Court. No further information about the residential property was available.

UM estimates an infrequent flow rate of less than 0.25 gallons per minute. At this time, it is not clear when the slow percolation began, but UM staff indicated that small amounts of water without odor may have been present at some point earlier this spring.
